The partnership with the committed team at The Heights on Huebner, a skilled nursing facility in Texas, has helped make the program a success.
In the words of Diana Castellanos, the Wellness Experience Director:
“There is harmony in the air at our weekly Java Music Club as residents gathered for an afternoon filled with familiar songs, laughter, friendship, and the soothing sounds of a singing bowl.
Our Java Music Club has a remarkable way of bringing people together. A favorite melody and engaging topics can unlock treasured memories, spark conversation, lift spirits, and create connections.
Today’s topic was about Fear and Bravery. Our favorite quote was a combination of John Wayne and Mark Twain.
John Wayne said, ‘Courage is being scared to death … and saddling up anyway.’
Mark Twain said, ‘Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear – not the absence of fear.’
At The Heights on Huebner, we’re proud to create opportunities where residents can connect, express themselves, and continue living life to the fullest—one topic and song at a time.”
Together, Java Group Programs and The Heights on Huebner are helping reduce loneliness. Music, memories, and meaningful moments foster connection, belonging, and purpose.
